ETIQUETTE AND RULES
Helpful guidelines
1. Speed of play; no more than 4 minutes to finding a ball and, if you've blobbed, please pick up and move on.
2. You are allotted a tee time, but this could change. Be ready to play from the first given tee time.
3. The Titans are about enjoying everyone's company, so accept who you are picked to play with.
4. It is your responsibility to arrange your own dietary requests or book carts with the golf club.
5. Take a provisional drive if you hit into trees. If you don't find your ball, a drop will cost you 2 points.
6. Handicaps are structured to give every Titan a sporting chance. It doesn't necessarily reflect your true handicap and should be accepted without complaint.
7. If you cry off after you have been put on the start sheet, you will be liable to pay the full amount.
8. If you cry off 3 times in a season, you will be taken off our list.
9. Golf could be cancelled due to bad weather. Always assume the game is on and turn up unless you receive confirmation.
10. Our head marshal is in charge on the day of golf and has the right to change times and pairings.
11. A ‘gimme’ should not be longer than the length of a standard putter grip.
12. Nominate your ball at the 1st tee and always help others search for their lost ball.
13. A player will be fined for an incorrect card when signed by marker and player and handed in to scorer. (For men this is $100k tour money)
14. Pay as soon as you arrive
15. Hand in your card as soon as you have finished the round (and before you put clubs away)

How to play golf quickly without rushing
Time taken in dependent on a large number of very small events, and all the players who hit off after you will be held up when you play slowly. It is highly frustrating for them and could give you (and us) a reputation you could well do without.
1. Be ready when it’s your turn to tee off, If you are not ready you must tell someone who is ready to go ahead of you "Ready golf".
2. Your card should be filled in at the next tee while playing partners are hitting off. NOT on the green.
3. When waiting on another player to play, decide which club you are going to use for next shot, ideally you should have that club in your hand as you reach your ball.
4. It’s not always necessary to put your club away when you’ve just used it – just walk forward with it in hand and put it away when you select the club for your next shot – that applies particularly to putting – just clear the green area asap for the next group.
5. It is possible to walk forward from the line of play, to the side, as long as you keep an eye on the player who is hitting. Don't stand around mesmerised waiting for others.
6. Be aware where you leave your bag, position it on the side of the green in the direction of the next tee box.
7. If you are in the bunker or doing a chip shot, bring your putter as well as your wedge. Nothing is as frustrating as watching someone walk 30 meters back to their bag to swap clubs.
8. Use your i-Phone app for distance only – please don't spend valuable time adding personal data, concentrate on the look and feel of your position on the course.
9. Ideally you should finish your round within half a fairway of the players in front of you, being two or more hole behind is totally unacceptable to the Titans.
10. Speed is of the essence – a 3 ¾ hour game or less is a very achievable target.
11. If, after all of this, you still fall behind by a full hole, it is your OBLIGATION to call through the group following you. Stand to one side, and then wave them through. This is the last resort - the best solution is to PLAY QUICKLY WITHOUT RUSHING.
And finally, good social interactions on the course are great, but speed of play should be uppermost in your mind, remember, there is plenty of time for banter once you're in the club house
